Vornast, the Blood Hunter

"I will never rest until the beast which killed my Prince lays dead at my paws."

Name: Vornast (VOR-nast)
Race: Feline Whorling
Rank: Theris'vani's Second
Gender: Male
Size: Cheetah sized
Color: Blood Red
Markings: Black cheetah spots
Mane: Sky blue
Powers:

Blood sight: ability to see blood in a person's body, gives him an advantage in a dark room, as the blood glows in his sight

Telekinesis: strong enough to allow him to assemble traps, but he never uses it to fly. The feet of felines belong on the ground in his opinion.

Boosted Agility

Soft foot: ability to walk silently everywhere, above and beyond the normal feline ability in this

Personality

Vornast isn't the friendliest sort. In fact, he's so unfriendly that he's denied entrance to Clan Akelara and has to content himself with the Western Complex as a home.

He's a more devious sort of evil than Eraist is, and enjoys laying deadly traps for his foes at every opportunity. He, too, follows Theris'vani, though he gives Seshisashir only faint respect (the mutt's a dog-hydra! How despicable!) he has high regard for Theris'vani and will willingly follow her orders. In fact, a mutual respect and liking has risen between the two of them, and Vornast can often be found at Theris'vani's side, or even riding on her back with Theris'vani's bond.

Vornast has a driving force behind all his actions and decisions: to kill a beast from his past. He hunts for it unendingly, and will go to any extent to kill it. In truth, he sees the traps and fighting experience he's getting in the Western Complex as nothing more than practice for the final showdown. He has no patience for passive, weak willed idiots, nor does he believe that anyone is truly "good" at heart, no matter how they portray themselves.

Description

Vornast's fur is as red as blood, covered in dark spots and markings. His mane is 'spiked' like a mohawk in a way, and long enough along his spine to flow over his shoulders and down his sides.

History:

Vornast once was the loyal protector of Prince Midalekule, and went to great extents to keep his prince healthy and safe. Together, the two were looked upon as the true hope for their land, and made a point to be benevolent and fair in all their actions.

Then, things changed. During a minor war, Prince Midalekule was wounded badly, though he still fought to the very end of the war, giving his troops the strength to carry on. After the war, though, things began turning for the worse. Prince Midalekule began to suffer from constant, vague pains, and from there his personality began to shift.

At this point, Vornast had his Prince locked away for the sake of everyone, and ruled in his place as best he could. But the strange sickness of his master made his temper short and his attention shorter. People began to see less and less of both of them, and the growing rage within Vornast was a constant source of rumors.

Eventually, the end came - Prince Midalekule passed away, and a darkness rose from his form, coalescing above it in the form of a shadowy jackal. Vornast, enraged by this, leapt at the shadow, only to have the dead body of his Prince pulled up in a grotesque parody of life. He clawed his way through the corpse, but only managed to close his jaws upon the tip of the jackal's nearly insubstantial tail. His mouth was instantly filled with a vile taste, and he released it just as swiftly.

The shadow fled, cackling, into the night, with Vornast hot on its heels. He pursues it, and the creatures it possesses, even to this day, intent on having his revenge.
