Mularaja: The First Root

"Everything comes from somewhere, even somewhere itself!"

Name: Mularaja
Meaning: The First Root of Creation (Sanskrit)
Gender: Male
Profession: Cybernetic Creator
Color: Golden Brown
Race: Gryphon
Size: 7'3" at shoulder
Personality:

Mularaja is a rover at heart, a nomad whose only home is the open skies above and the horizon before him. While he does often remain in one place for what many people would consider a long time (sometimes decades at a time), such an amount of time is truly nothing to him. His restless heart and wandering paws have given him many experiences over the centuries, and his knowledge is without equal in many places.

Very few people can tell right off the bat that Mularaja is immortal, though. Where many immortals tend to have a world-weary, tired look about, or are aloof and distant, Mularaja isn't in the slightest. He's charming, able to win friends with only a single meeting, and often causing people to fall all over themselves to please him in any way he desires (yes, even in that way!). He can talk his way out of any situation, and has an easy time with reading others, which makes it even easier for him to get what he wants. Most of all, he's personable. He loves people, loves interacting, loves discovering new things and learning new branches of thought. He is, above all, an optimist at heart, and nothing can dissuade him from that.

History:

It was the dawn of the techno-era, humans were just beginning to create and become one with technology. The future was bright and the possibilities brighter. Advances were swift, knowledge traveled at the speed of thought, and anything that could be done, was.

And for one young inventor, the potentials were astounding. Nanobots, cyber-tech, artificial life, genetic engineering... toys and concepts that were only dreamed about ten years ago, now made possible by these advancements.

He never went to school - why should he when all the information in the world was right there at his fingertips? - instead, he freelanced as a creator... no, a Creator. A special class of people who could grasp the cybernet with their mind and twist it to their will. He could craft anything he could think of, could dream of anything in the universe and make it real. Only in the cybernet, of course, but who needed more?

He took the name Mularaja (what, you thought he was actually named that at birth? Coincidences like that don't happen often, you know) and made a name for himself. A small one, true, known only in a small corner of the 'net, but that was enough for him.

But it became not enough. Technology advanced, his skills grew. He wanted more. But what?

All the chatter across the cybernet was about genetic engineering, about transferring consciousness from one being to another. But wasn't that already possible? Wasn't that what was going on (illegally, mind) in small corners of the cybernet to begin with?

But what if he could do it better?

He set his mind to work, began taking fewer commissions, only enough to keep himself in ready cash. He worked, crafted, created. He did the impossible and crafted a living body, a great gryphon with nimble talons and glittering fur and feathers. The gryphon was a living, breathing creation, sustained eternally by a hoard of nanobots... but it had no soul, no mind.

Those were to come from him.

At age twenty six, the human died, and the gryphon rose in its place. It took him months to finally master his new form, to merge and become one with his new avatar.

Because truly, isn't that all it is? An avatar for the mind, the soul. The physical body holds little difference from the cybernet body - both are avatars in their own realms. So why not change avatars upon finding yourself bored with your original?

From there, he took off. Roving the world and exploring all the things he couldn't explore before. He is still a Creator, and his name is still well known within a special cybernet niche, but his fame as the First Transfer has spread further than his fame as simple Creator.

Which is why he has decided to explore other worlds as well. Worlds where he doesn't stand out quite so much. Worlds where no one realizes he was born a human, and is now living in an artificially created body.

Powers: While technically powerless, Mularaja has many fun cybernetic toys at his disposal.
