Kjaru is a slippery sort, perfectly content with running verbal circles around others when he wants to get out of something. He's self-confident and takes no nonsense from anyone, going his own way without caring about the reaction of others, and perfectly content with his research and exploration. In truth, he doesn't mind that very few can put up with him for any length of time, as he finds that books, empty ruins, and unsolved mysteries are much more interesting than human company.

This leads to Kjaru being a very focused man, unwilling to set his newest fascination down in order to do anything else, including eat! This often single-minded intensity has lead to his name becoming well known as a researcher, but with only a bare handful of people who can claim to truly know him.

Kjaru is tall and rail thin, without an ounce of fat on his body. Part of this is due to how often he forgets to eat, and the other part is due to his quick metabolism. His hair is black and just barely touches his shoulders, his eyes are a dark amber, and it's common to see him with a shadow of facial hair.

Not one to limit himself to one style of dress, Kjaru takes bits and pieces from various cultures and throws them together into a hodgepodge collection that has a tendency to stand out. He prefers his ankle-length black leather over-coat, a jewel-bright button up shirt, dark-colored wrap pants, and knee-high moccasin boots. He isn't one for jewelry, but he does wear a single signet ring on his left hand.
