Hivemind: Greiskale

Greiskale is fiercely, dangerously protective of Ithaniri. The moment it determines that the individual Frights that make it up can't handle a situation in front of them, Greiskale will step in and capture as many offending creatures as possible in its labyrinth. It cares nothing for consequences, as it perceives Ithaniri as the only important thing in the universe.

It is determined to support and teach Ithaniri as much as possible to not be afraid of herself or her heritage. And, being of genius level, it is fully convinced that it can do it by itself, never mind the two hovering Night Mages that are fascinated by it. There's a bit of hubris going on with Greiskale, but who can blame it, when it can outthink and outmaneuver most embodied creatures?

Kidafyr is always with Ithaniri, often curled around her bond's neck as a constant reminder to others that Ithaniri has protectors now. She mildly regrets the torture that she put Ithaniri through when the hive bonded with her, and is determined to make it up by being a constant companion. She talks the most out of the individual Frights, both to Ithan and to others.

Kval is a bit aloof from the rest. To his way of thinking, Ithaniri is perfectly fine just the way she is, and doesn't require more than his presence. He is constantly in a deep empathetic connection with Ithaniri (so deep, he has no telepathy of his own), though, and acts as the empathic conduit between Ithaniri and the Hive.

Katua is the playful one of the Hive, always trying to lighten the mood and get Ithaniri to laugh. To do this, he is constantly exercising his ability to create minor illusions - painting designs, changing outfits, and generally making people look ridiculous so that Ithaniri loses her fear of them.

Ellende is a powerhouse of personality. She is a determined little Fright, and often acts as support for Ithaniri, trying to infuse Ithaniri with confidence in herself in her powers. If Ellende has her way, Ithaniri will be in total control of her abilities in short order.

Nyomor sees no reason for Ithaniri to be frightened of the dark. After all, aren't all of them creatures of the dark, and doesn't Greiskale itself have the ability to cause darkness (or, shudder, bring light)? As such, Nyomor takes every opportunity to push Ithaniri's tolerances a bit further, all in the name of making her more comfortable with herself and her abilities.

Walgir is Walgir. Grumpy and often brusque, Walgir puts up with very little, and condones even less. He's the total grouch of the group, likely to bite off the head of anyone who even looks at him wrong. While the others are mostly concerned with the emotional wellbeing of their bond, Walgir couldn't care less -- he's more likely to be the one hanging from a person's hand, teeth dug deep and claws hooked into flesh.

Hirsii has a tendency to just hang out. He's not much of a talker, but that's mostly because the others already know what he would say anyway, and often speak for him. He has a bit of a "devil may care" attitude, and does whatever he wants, whenever he wants, people and their rules bedamned -- rules just make them easier prey. Relaxation is what he excels at - finding Hirsii wound tight with nervous energy is impossible. That's something he provokes in others, not something he feels himself.

Katteas is the flashiest Fright out of the entire lot, brighter than even Kval in her mottled yellow hide. As a result, she often draws the most immediate attention, especially when paired with Ithaniri's relatively colorless self. Katteas has a tendency to preen and care for herself at every opportunity, reveling in her difference as opposed to being shy because of it - as different from her own swarm as Ithaniri is different from her people. She believes that Ithaniri should take some pointers from her in being different and enjoying it.
