Raiyan Rasur

"I don't think you believe me, do you?"

Name: Raiyan Rasur
Gender: Male
Race: Pure Lost Human (petitioning for Fallen status)
Eyes: Silver-edged Blue
Hair: Translucent Smokey Gray
Age: Around 23
Personality:

Raiyan, luckily, takes after his mother and step-father more than his blood-father Kyran. Much more outgoing and willing to speak with others than Kyran is, Raiyan is also known for his general love of life and his faith in the Celestial Covenant of the Fallen. He memorized the entire thirty page document early in his life, and tries to live by it as best he can, even though he's not a Fallen. From Gale, his step-father, he picked up a gutsy courage and disregard for danger, which lets him face down bullies, older people, and especially his father.

Raiyan, much like his blood-father, appears to literally have no curse, despite his mother having one she struggles with every day due to her albinism. He's always chalked it up to the idea that his is too subtle to notice right away, but the thought that he doesn't actually have one has crept into his mind several times in the past. He's never tried to test that theory, though, for fear that he does actually have one, and that purposely testing for it will set him off on a life-destroying path.

He deals with his own albinism on a daily basis, though luckily it seems that his blue eyes are only mildly affected by it. Bright light still hurts more than it should, of course, but his vision is clearer than most albinos. He has gotten plenty of looks, though, and some humans are outright scared of him because of what his albinism implies now, but he doesn't mind all that much.

He believes that the Fallen and the Lost should try to heal the divide between them, and that together the two groups could do much together.

Description:

Raiyan takes very much after his blood-father. Tall, knife-thin, and generally dangerous looking no matter how friendly he's trying to be, Raiyan tends to intimidate those who don't know him well. His hair is a translucent smoke gray, a color that he believes is the result of black hair being diluted by his albinism, though his eyes are the same silver-edged blue that his blood-father has. His skin is a pure bone white, and burns at the merest hint of the sun, if he's not careful. His facial features are slightly softened by his mother's genes, but his father's aquiline features still mostly dominate. His Blood Rose bloom is centered on his upper back, and spreads across his shoulder blades, down to his mid back, and up onto his neck. It's almost larger than his father's, in fact.

He has no official colors, because he's not a Fallen, yet (he's trying to fix that.) Normally, he'll just wear whatever comes to hand when he reaches into the closet in the morning. He's never been one for fashion, or spending money wastefully on useless clothes.

History:

Raiyan was raised with the knowledge that Gale -- wonderful, friendly, outgoing Gale whose last name he used every day as his own -- was not his real father. That, in fact, he could look forward to no more siblings, because Gale was a Fallen, and Fallen can only sire children on humans. He always believed that his father, then, was another Lost (or a human at the very worst) - a Pure Lost at the best, judging by his own Blood Rose bloom and how powerful he was for his age.

He grew up with a specific handful of doctors (some of the best in the entire world, he learned later on in life) that always saw him. Not that he was ever sick, but for those rare times when he injured himself badly enough that his rapid healing needed assistance from modern medicine. Until Selas and Asari came into his life, he thought it normal for a physician to fly across several countries to perform a simple bone-setting in a strange hospital for his patient. But even after that, he simply figured that Gale was pulling strings somehow (favors owed to him by these people, perhaps) to give his step-son the best medical treatment anywhere.

It came as a shock, then, when he finally met his real father face to face and learned the man's name, all his theories thrown to the wind with that one meeting. Suddenly, having a dedicated team of physicians made a twisted sort of sense -- it was to keep people from becoming suspicious. Very few Fallen were actually related to one another, and Kyran, while his DNA was on file, had never sired any children. It was easy to figure Hali as a Pure Lost...

His very existence, Raiyan realized in moments, was theoretically impossible. Fallen were infertile, Pure Lost nearly so. For a Fallen and a Pure Lost to have a child was unheard of.

Already shaken, his cozy little world-view was completely shattered after his next Test. One of his physicians had insisted on a blood test and, seeing no reason to deny the man, Raiyan gave in and permitted it.

The result was astounding, though the physician himself seemed to have expected it. Raiyan, however, was not.

Immortality. The blessing (and curse) of a Fallen, and only a Fallen.

Raiyan, by all accounts, was a pureblood Fallen, destined to outlive everyone but other Fallen.

Inside, he felt the beginning of a shift that would, before it was complete, redefine everything Fallen had held dear for four hundred years.
