Ergot! ~~Gen~~ ::Name:: Ergot ::Gender:: Male ::Rank:: Resident of Mindspace ::Species:: Anthropomorphic Red Panda/African Wild Dog crossbreed ::Age:: 19 ::Job:: self-styled Professional Catalyst ::Location:: Mindspace ~~Appearance~~ ::Height:: 6'5" ::Eyes:: round, light blue. ::Fur/Scales/Feathers/Skin:: Black base, though that transitions to a dark reddish tone in places, the dark hide is broken up with African-wild-dog like patches of beige and brown. ::Hair:: Black, reaches his ears ::Other:: Built like an African wild dog, but with a sliiightly shorter muzzle and wider face, slightly smaller ears, and the red-panda tail, complete with bands of red and white. Light build. Tends to wear random assortments of things, like feathers in his hair and on his many earrings. Each ear is peirced four times, industrial barbell piercings, off of which he hangs things like feathers and bells and bits of tin foil. Eccentric like a Cheshire, right down to the grin. A good place to begin might be to explain the origins of his name. Ergot is a fungus that infects wheat and other grains. When ingested in high quantities, it causes convulsions, gangrene, insanity and even death. It's thought that the girls who instigated the salem witch trials had been infected with ergot. While this ergot isn't quite so dangerous, he can seem as such sometimes-- but only to those who find strangeness unnerving. That he is unnerving is inevitable, but he isn't particularly nasty or violent-- it takes quite a lot to get him to use the powers he commands. Very grinny, the insane smile on his face isn't for show-- he does tend to be in an unusually good mood, finding the humor in most everything. He likes to be happy and in a good mood, thank you very much-- angst is not his particular cup of tea. Somewhat careless and carefree, he's not one to cross any major lines, but things that wont insight [really big] riots are fairgame. He'll say what he wants to say, when he wants to say, and this usually means saying whatever's on his mind. He's callous with words, as a result, and has gained himself a few enemies. As many people like him for this, however, as the snarky comments that tend to come out of his mouth are quite witty sometimes. As generally implied, he's quite spontaneous, in action as well as speech, and causing a little mischief here and there is great fun to him. His personality's not unbalanced, however- if he HAS to be, he can be serious. He just rarely finds that he has to be. ~~History~~ ::Former Location:: ::If Relevant:: Surprisingly, he was born and grew up in Mirror-pern, for the first 15 years of his life. This is surprising because pern is not the sort of world to nurture the sort of personality Ergot displays, even in the weyrs, which is where he was born. For mostly this reason, he gave up on the world at the tender age of fifteen after having a fairly-normal childhood, and devoted himself to wandering, essentially hitchhiking from world to world with the help of convenient dragon-riding strangers. Exploring suits him just fine-- the only part he doesn't like about it is the fact that no one stays stationary, which gets quite lonely after awhile. ~~Connections~~ ::Mate:: ::Family:: ::Bondeds:: ::Pets::
 ::Name:: Yryaksyrot ::Gender:: Female ::Species:: Dragon mutt-- SCD/Iullerbrillan ::Rank:: Medium-sized female? ::Colour:: Green-red-white ~~Appearance~~ ::Size:: 11' tall, 22' long ::Eyes:: Light purple ::Fur/Scales/Feathers/Skin:: A pale mint green over most of her hide, broken on the tip of her tail and muzzle where it goes to white, and then to red. Her wing membranes and headridges are likewise white. ::Build:: Light ::Other:: // ~~Skills~~ ::Magic:: ::Physical:: Fire breath, Verbal Speech ::Mental:: Telepathy ~~Personality~~ ::General:: Very Tactless, confident and egoistical, when people learn that she's bonded to Ergot, they tend to groan. Ergot, in response, tends to grin cheekily back. She herself thinks she can do most anything, though she's realistic about her limits-- she's not about to fly for three days strait without stopping to rest, for a mundane example. She, like her bond, says whatever the hell she wants to say when she wants to say it, regardless of what it may cause, and she does what she wants to do as well. She thinks highly of herself and Ergot seems perfectly content to fuel this particular trait. She's independent and somewhat bitter, and refuses to take much help, even, at times, from Ergot, who she does value as a bond, for some reason or another. ~~History~~ ::Origins:: BRW [giveaway] ::If Relevant:: Abandoned by her first chosen, and left at her origins to fend for herself, Yryaksyot took this opportunity to decide that no one was worthy of her and that was why she'd been abandoned. Otherwise, nothing particularly interesting happened to her-- she grew up and got somewhat bitter, but due to the fact that she was dependant on herself and only herself, she also got a strong sense of confidence in herself and what she could do. And then something interesting did happen-- in strode Ergot, who somehow managed to convince the independent dragoness that he was worth bonding too. After that, they wandered off on their own, and continue to do that. Reality is concrete to her, and so real that she often has a hard time seeing anything but the clear cut and material side of things. Her imagination is weak- but her perception and logical manner will be sure to help Ergot find some middle ground, and Ergot will probably help Nadeji laugh every once in a while. Nadeji loves her bond, despite all his dissatisfying characteristics, and if there is anyone that Nadeji can manage to forgive for their short comings, it is Ergot. If he can get this dragoness to open up a bit more, Ergot will be sure to find a good friend in Nadeji- someone who will always smile with him... even if she doesn't see what he is so happy about. ~~History~~ ::Origins:: Ihlathi ::Hatching Post:: Watching all of this from within the nest, a little pink dragoness that had hatched just after Luko was sitting up against an unhatched egg- eyes bright. She stared for a long time at her mother and father, but finally headed towards the candidates. From those left, the little female picked the grinning Ergot. She offered him a light little smile and promptly bonded to him.
