~~Personality~~
::Mental Disorders:: none ::General:: An interesting mix of
traits if there's ever been one seen. She's mean, illtempered, and a closet
daydreamer. When she's alone-- and when she wants to think, she'll seek to be
alone-- she's quiet, inwards and lost in whatever abyss her head is occupied
at during whatever time. She gets quite irate when she's disturbed, and will
verbally lash out at anyone who dares do so, and has, for this reason, been
deemed wide to leave alone. In general she's quite spiteful-- if she decides
she doesn't like you, she'll make rude comments in your direction and
generally make life miserable for you. She's not that unreasonable, however,
to hate anyone for no reason-- you have to do something to incur her wrath. Of
course, this could be as simple as disturbing her when she does not wish to be
disturbed, but it's still incurred wrath, and not merely random. Even if she
likes you, she can be fairly grudging and illtempered, snapping without
meaning to and generally being a skeptical pessimist. Few people can stand her
for long amounts of time. She is, however, loyal, and a good friend to have--
which is probably why her few friends keep her. She's rather spontaneous, and
will react violently if the situation calls for it. I.e., something threatens
someone or something she loves, or herself. She's also surprisingly gentle with
firelizards and, of course, dragons-- she reveres the beast, and they're the
object of her frequent daydreams.
~~History~~
::Former Location:: // ::If Relevant:: Born to a pair of
holdless, she was left at the weyr when she was younger because her parents,
who were the roving types and chose to be holdless, couldn't afford to be
weighted down with a child in their travels. The people of the weyr adopted
her as if she'd been born there, particularly one of the younger goldriders
who'd recently lost her own daughter. That surrogate mother, as well as a few
others, are some of the few people she's actually nice and obedient too, and
even polite. Thusly she grew up a weyrbrat, experiencing the various
responsibilities and freedoms that only the easygoing atmosphere of the weyr
could provide. Other than that, everything's been fairly normal. No traumatic
events to colour her personality with a bitter overtone, nothing exceptionally
exciting.

::General:: ((Written by Starburst)) Idiri is a quiet and calm
dragoness, a daydreamer like her bond. The one thing that separates the two is
that while Aezykai tends to be illtempered and rude, Idiri remains calm nearly
all the time. She does not tend to be a warmhearted dragoness - in fact, her
aura is rather cold - but Idiri refrains from making outwardly rude comments
to others or becoming snappish or irate. She is loyal to no one but her bond,
and trusts Aezykai with everything.

Message:: ((Written by STarburst)) The last of three anthros from
Mindspace, Aezykai, was actually an anthro dinosaur, something most of
Starburst's inhabitants had never seen. She was approached by a very
recently-hatched winter-gold dragonet, who nodded rather calmly at her to
signify that she'd chosen her.
Idiri, Braidie introduced her daughter to her bond.
Let's go, Idiri said. Without another word, the pair departed, leaving
the last egg to hatch.

Search
Aezykai had a number of quirks, and one of them was her habit of
disappearing as soon as chores were done into the depths of the weyr. It was no
secret that the dinosaur anthro liked to be alone, and that one shouldn't
disturb her when she's alone. And, on a day that seemed like any other day, she
finished her chores as fast as possible and once more retreated into the
labyrinthine caverns of the inner weyr, eager to retreat into the world of her
thoughts, totally oblivious to the fact that today was not as normal as it
seemed.
Unknown to her, seekers from Starburst arrived half an hour after she retreated
into the silence of the abandoned passageways, three of them, riding search for
prospective bonders to the two clutches hardening on the starburst sands. They
came, they searched, and eventually they left, carrying a few boys on the backs
of their dragons, returning to their homes. And Aezykai, sitting in dusty dark
rooms, mind lost in thoughts of riding dragons, missed all of it.
Hours later, the illtempered girl emerged as she always did, blinking to allow
her eyes to adjust to light they hadn't encountered in the past few hours. It
was immediately noticeable that she'd missed something-- the problem was, what?
With the ominous feeling that she wasn't going to like what she was about to
hear, she turned to one of the younger occupants of the weyr, snarling at him to
tell her what had happened that she'd missed.
"Seekers!" said the boy, so excited by the events that he forgot to be wary of
the dinosaur's infamous mood swings. "From starburst! They came on search, and
you missed them~" Before she could react, he'd turned and pranced off, towards
someone else to whom he could spread the joyous news of the occasion. The bustle
of the weyr continued around her, the air full of excited voices, but time for
her seemed to stand still.
She'd.. missed it.
And, ironically, she'd been dreaming of riding dragons when she'd missed it.
With a noise of frustration, she pushed herself into the eyebrow, only slightly
comforted by the cool night air. She'd missed it! For YEARS she'd dreamed of
this chance, for years she'd wanted to stand before searchriders and be judged
for their clutches, for years she'd awaited the opportunity. And, time and time
again, she missed it! Why didn't anyone come and get her?!
Of course, she knew the answer to that. She wasn't an idiot, she knew as well as
anyone that she had a temper that unleashed itself on hapless people who
interrupted her long, daydream- silences. And that was probably why no one had
fetched her-- no one would've wanted to get a tongue-lashing. So it made sense,
but that didn't make it any more frustrating.
She wanted to go to starburst, shard it! Even if it was on another building, in
a world vastly different from the one she currently occupied, she wanted to go
there and stand in one of those hatchings! Why did fate have to be so cruel to
her, to make her miss yet another search?! With an angry screech, she kicked a
pebble across the eyebrow, causing a few dragons to raise their heads and regard
her in alarm.
"Frustrated?"
Aezykai started at the voice behind her, turning to see a familiar shape
standing there. Raum, her "mother's" weyrmate. The anthropomorphic goat had a
kind expression on her reddish features, though it was certainly toned with
amusement. and THAT annoyed Aezykai. She snarled at the goat, replying
snappishly. "What do you want?"
"No need to get testy." Raum said, taking a deliberate pause she knew would
infuriate the Deinonychus. "I have good news?"
"Oh?" Aezykai replied, with venomous skepticism. "And what could possibly go
right? I just missed a search! And you KNOW how much I want to be a candidate."
"You still can be."
These four words knocked Aezykai out of her fit of anger, stopping her in
mid-fume. She turned to give the goat a confused look. "What are you talking
about. The seekers are gone. Are they coming back?"
"No-" Raum started, only to be cut off by another noise of anger from her angry
step-daughter of sorts.
"Then why even mention something like that? To tease me?" The Deinonychus's tone
was accusatory, irrational in her frustration.
"Let me finish." Raum sighed, waving a hand. "They aren't coming back. However,
they weren't satisfied with the few numbers of candidates they found here. You
know they only found one boy? Marion." she gave a significant pause, causing
Aezykai to tap her feet in frustration. "So they asked some of us to send
candidates their way if we found any worthy. I thought of you immediately, since
you were off skulking somewhere."
"That's nice." Aezykai said, after a moment, slightly calmer at the good news.
"But it's not your decision, now is it? Only dragons know who's worthy of
standing anywhere."
"You think I'd approach you without consulting my Danshyith?" She gave a chuckle
and glanced at her white-bronze, curled beside his golden mate on the ledge of
their shared weyr. "He thinks you're a worthy candidate. A bit fiery, perhaps,
but he says that perhaps there's a dragonet inside one of those eggs with a
personality to match."
"You're.. not joking with me?" Aezykai said, unable to keep the note of hope
from her voice. She might get her chance after all, now? She might still be able
to stand?
"You think I'd do that to you?" Raum answered, and when she was faced with a
skeptical stare, she laughed and ruffled the newly searched candidate's hair.
"No, I wouldn't. Now stop glaring at me and go take a bath and pack your things.
I'm dropping you off first thing in the morning."
Aezykai gave Raum a rare grin, and turned to do just that. It was as if all of
her anger had suddenly transformed itself into the essence of her daydreams--
she could almost see herself on the back of a dragon now! Oh, the excellence of
it!
"And don't forget to say goodbye to atel!" Raum called after the Deinonychus, as
she ran off. "You know she'll be distraught if you don't!" The goat anthro
watched her young charge disappear into the weyrbrat barracks of the weyr,
shaking her head. Hopefully, if Aezykai did impress, her dragon wouldn't be
quite so illtempered as she was. One like her was enough. Hatching of Idiri
